Meet behind the Carthage Courthouse near DT McCall&#39;s, 101 Water Street, Carthage, TN 37030 at 8:45 am for 9 am departure. We will take 2nd Ave to Main, turn right and cross over the bridge to 70. We will turn left (east) on 70 and take it to Highway 96N. We will turn left and after a few switchbacks and after passing some kinfolk from Dueling Banjos driving northwest towards Granville, the road turns into one of the most scenic routes in Middle Tennessee. Time frame is 1 hr 6 minutes, 45 miles.<br /><br />We might stop at Sutton General Store in Granville for a quick snack. We will then head northeast on Granville Highway (53) for 13.1 miles, 19 minutes to Gainsboro at Highway 56. We will turn left at the stop light and about one mile north meet at Sammy&#39;s One Stop Market on the right. We exit right (north) on 56 and in about a mile 56 veers off to the left, and we&#39;ll cross over the Cumberland River. For 19 minutes, 14.2 miles we will continue on 56 through Whitleyville until we get to North Springs, where we will turn right on 151. For 7.1 miles, 11 minutes this road takes us into Red Boiling Springs to the Donoho Hotel. <br /><br />The parking lot is gravel and we will need to enter slowly as there may be a dip. There is plenty of parking on the grass in front of the hotel for pictures. We will provide maps of the route. We will have lunch at noon. <br /><br />Total trip is 79.2 miles and 2 hours of driving time. This provides additional time for stops in Granville and Sammy&#39;s One Stop Market, as well as touring the hotel and its grounds.
